Who should decide whether you are successful or not?

Who should decide whether you are successful or not?

Your parents?

Your friends?

Your colleagues?

Your community?

Nop.

Society makes you think it is the perception people have of you that makes you successful.  Yet I know plenty of people who have what would make someone else feel successful, and they live a life of misery.  Success for my mother is seeing her three sons do well in life for themselves.  It is not money, it is not a flash house or the fastest car, and it is not shopping.  Her values are a tight knit family and the best for her sons.  To her that’s success.  For my partner, it is having a loving relationship.  Nothing else matters.  To her nothing matters if she is not in a loving relationship.  To have that is success.  For a friend of mine, it is means how many lattes she could fit in the day catching up with friends and discussing the latest fashion.  Other friends it’s the cars they drive, he houses they collect like baseball cards and where they are seen on a Friday night.  To some success is money in the bank, to others it is knowing you have people who will stick with your through thick or thin.  For some it is in the stuff they have, others it’s in all the relationships they have built.

With that in mind, I ask the question again, who should decide whether you are successful or not?

YOU… and only you.

Do what makes you happy.  You should never do something for what others would think of you.  Success is a race with you as your only competitor.  Life is a game and to be successful (what ever that means to you) is to win the game of your life.

Always remember, you are the person that decides whether you are successful or not.

May you Win Your Game Of Life.
